Meet the owner

From the Owner: Hi! I’m Khalia, owner and founder of Paws and Play Pet Care. Paws and Play Pet Care LLC was created with both elderly (Pause) and high-energy (Play) dogs in mind. I created my business after fostering and adopting an elderly dog from my mentor Cheryl Cook of LaDera Pet Project. After deciding to adopt Matcha the Yorkie (who is now 20!) and add Chai my Pomeranian to the family, I realized that safe senior daycare and boarding was so hard to find; especially with one dog being high energy and the other being elderly. This led me to create my own business and provide the only level of care I would accept for my fur babies. I cultivated a space that I would feel comfortable to which I would bring my own dogs. Every day I strive to uphold the highest standard of care for each client and treat them as a cherished part of the pack. 

Biography: Khalia Taylor was born and raised in Los Angeles, California by vegan animal loving parents who always cultivated her love of wildlife. Since she was a child, she dreamed of her future career in pet care, veterinary medicine and animal rehabilitation. From hermit crabs to centipedes and snakes, Khalia's mom always supported these interests and allowed her to own several rare and exotic pets. Khalia knew from a very young age that she would only feel truly fulfilled if she is making the world a better place for humans and animals alike. After enjoying a fulfilling career in veterinary medicine as a vet tech, Khalia settled down and created her pet care business for the love of your pets.
